Cal Hobson Teachers and
Technology for Tomorrow Workshops
Funded through a grant from the SBC Foundation
Training provided through UCO College of Education and Professional Studies
Center for Teaching Excellence
Grant Goals
• Promote the integration of technology into the Pre K – 12 curriculum
• Support classroom teachers as they develop technology enhanced lessons
• Offer professional development that includes infusion of technology into
the math classroom
What Does That Mean
Ten area schools have been selected to participate in the grant and receive
a free 30 hour on-site technology training workshop for teachers and
administrators during summer 2006. The workshop format uses an interactive
hands-on approach with customized training modules, so teachers learn best
practices for how, when, and where technology can enhance student learning.
Workshop Overview
Technology integration, curriculum enhancement, and differentiated
instruction are essential to high quality professional development. Through
the Cal Hobson Teachers and Technology for Tomorrow Grant (CHT3) teachers
learn how, when, and where to incorporate technology tools and resources
into their current curriculum with the goal of enhancing their students’
learning experience. They develop new technology skills and learn new ways
to support their curriculum. This workshop incorporates hands-on use of the
Internet and a customized curriculum to meet your school’s specific needs.
Goals
Each workshop is customized to meet the needs and technology skills of each
participating school. As teachers progress through this workshop; they
collaborate with other teachers and discuss ideas for both introducing and
using technology in the classroom. Participating teachers develop projects
based upon material they are already teaching or will teach in the future.
The goal is for each teacher to leave the workshop prepared to effectively
implement a technology-rich learning activity that engages students in
effective use of technology to achieve.
