The Department of Occupational
and Technology Education offers B.S. degrees and Masters degree programs for
careers in industry settings and in educational institutions. Departmental
programs prepare people for career opportunities in industry with career titles
such as: training professionals;staff development coordinators; aging services professionals; training
consultants;
environmental and occupational health and safety professionals; and health
occupations professionals. Departmental programs prepare people for career
opportunities in educational institutions with career titles such as: public,
private, and technology center school educators at the secondary and
post-secondary levels. That includes certified teachers and administrators in
Family and Consumer Sciences, Business Information and Technology Education,
Marketing Education, Trade and Industrial Education and Allied Health. Students
seeking degrees and careers in both industry and education have moved on to
receive competitive salaries and many honors in their chosen fields.
Mission Statement
The Occupational and Technology Education department exists to provide quality
undergraduate and graduate programs that enable individuals to develop
competencies necessary for success as a professional in industry or the
disciplines of Career-Tech Education.
