Other Training Opportunities

Foundations of American Education Classes
Each Foundations of American Education student should complete two sessions of technology training to help them with their ePortfolio.  Small groups of students will then sign-up for training sessions that are held during morning, afternoon, and evening times provided by the lab assistants, Computer Lab Supervisor, or ePortfolio Coordinator.  If you are unable to meet the scheduled training times or are already computer literate in these areas, then please check out the new test-out option.

Class Demonstrations
Other classes on the undergraduate and graduate level may also receive demonstrations in their classrooms. Demonstrations in classrooms could either be done in computer labs or with the mobile lab depending on availability of resources and the purpose of the demonstration. Class trainings would be best utilized in a class that is found at the beginning of a program sequence. If many members of the class have already begun using the ePortfolio, then other methods of training may be more appropriate.

Schedule Sessions in Education Building Computer Labs
Regularly scheduled training sessions in ED 110 & 112  computer labs will be another way for students to receive training on ePortfolio features. Attendees can be trained on their account and practice the instructions within their own portfolio. Different sessions will be scheduled throughout the semester in order to meet the needs of students and help with organization of information. Students will also be able to receive assistance with scanning and editing documents to most appropriately be used in the ePortfolio program.

Independent Work in Education Building Computer Labs
Students are welcome to use the Education Building computer labs in order to work on the ePortfolio in the afternoon hours. Lab assistants are able to answer any questions that may arise with your account or refer you for further technical assistance. Students are also able to utilize the computers and scanning equipment in that area. If you would like assistance on an individual basis, this might be the training for you. Please remember that there is only one lab assistant and deadlines may prompt others to take advantage of similar training opportunities.
