Where is the SRC located ... ?[The SRC is located in the Education Building, Room 225 (second floor, southwest corner.)] Back to TopIs there a copy machine in the SRC ... ?[No. The nearest copy machine for student use is in the Max Chambers Library.] Back to TopDo I have to pay for anything ... ?[Yes. Fees have been established for laminating film and construction paper. These fees are paid using a punch card called the SRC Supply Card. All individuals (students as well as faculty/staff) who wish to have laminating done or who wish to use the SRC’s 9” x 12” construction paper MUST purchase the SRC Supply Card. (The SRC does not accept cash under any circumstances!) SRC Supply Card can be purchased in $2 (8 punches) and $5 (20 punches) denominations. They must be purchased with CASH in the Dean's Office (EDU 213) during that office's normal hours of operation (call 974-5701 to find out more). Once you have your SRC Supply Card, bring it to the student assistant on duty in the SRC and tell him/her what you want. One punch out of the SRC Supply Card will pay for up to 10 sheets of construction paper. Two punches will pay for 1 foot of laminating (four punches will pay for 2 foot, and so on). Laminating is always rounded up or down to the nearest foot. Please note that ALL SRC PATRONS (students as well as faculty/staff) must purchase SRC Supply Cards from the Dean's Office if they wish to laminate or use the SRC's construction paper.] Back to TopDo I have to pay to use the die-cuts ... ?[No. In fact, if you bring your own paper in with you to the SRC, you may use the dies and the die-cutting machines free of charge. In addition, the SRC’s office-type supplies (scissors, glue, pens, markers, paper clips) and electronic equipment (comb binding machine, electric typewriter, etc), may be used in the SRC free of charge as well.] Back to TopWhat if I don’t know how to use the equipment or the cutting machines... ?[Although the SRC assistants will not do your project for you, they are more than happy to show you how to use any or all of the SRC’s resources. They may also be able to make helpful suggestions if you’re interested. Can I take items out of the SRC ... ?[No. Except for the construction paper or lamination that you purchase with the SRC Supply Card, all SRC resources must be used in the SRC (EDU 225). Nothing can be removed for use in individual classrooms, faculty offices, or at your home.] Back to TopI am an instructor. Can I use the SRC ... ?[Yes, but like students, you must pay for consumable supplies (construction paper and lamination). Use of the equipment, of course, is free for you as well as students. Please be aware that, if you are working on a personal project, you may be asked to leave by the SRC student assistant in order to make room for students working on class-related or other approved academic assignments/projects. ] Back to TopI am an instructor. Nine users at a time (three standing using the die-cutting machines, three sitting at each of the two round tables) are really the most that the SRC can comfortably accommodate.
