1. Where can I purchase an ePortfolio account and how much does it cost?
*ePortfolio accounts at UCO can currently be purchased at Thompson’s Bookstore at
101 N University Drive or at the University Book Store. The initial cost of
purchasing an account is currently $58.75.
2. Is my ePortfolio account automatically renewed every year?
*ePortfolio accounts are available to the owner for up to one calendar year from the date that the account was first activated. Students must renew their accounts
manually by purchasing a renewal year with a current price of $46.50
depending on the vendor. Renewal
codes can be purchased from Thompson's Book Store or the University Book Store.
3. Why was I given a strange account number when I purchased my ePortfolio?
*The ePortfolio activation number is required to help an individual access their account for the first time. Should the number be misplaced or lost, an additional account will need to be purchased by the student. Staff members are unable to regenerate the number for future use.
4. Where can I find instructions on how to use my ePortfolio?
*Customized instructions for UCO students are currently available within this website to provide easy access
under the Usage Instructions tab. Chalk and Wire has also included technical support information within the ePortfolio and can be found on each page with the icon of a computer and question mark.
5. Do I need any type of technical equipment to access my ePortfolio account?
*In order to successfully activate and edit the portfolio, a person needs a
valid e-mail account and access to the Internet. If these items are not available, you are not able to use your the ePortfolio.
6. What happens if I am not currently taking a class in which an artifact is loaded into my program portfolio?
*The account holder continues to maintain ownership of the account, but no additional documents or projects from coursework are required to be loaded into the portfolio for that time period.
7. Are there computer resources and training personnel specifically able to help me with my ePortfolio?
*Currently, the computer lab in the Education Building, room #112, is available
for students from 7:30 to 9:30 Monday through Friday. In that facility, there are computer resources and scanners for use as well as assistance provided by student workers.
*The ePortfolio Coordinator and ePortfolio Graduate Assistant are also available
for student support and faculty problems in ED 205.
8. Will I receive any training on how to use my ePortfolio?
*All training for students will be offered online this semester with modular
sessions. Those presentation materials are loaded on this website under
the Training link. Students can progress through training at their own
pace and complete it either in the CEPS computer labs or at a personal location. Other programs are welcome to have this opportunity
as well as variations of this training if they arrange training with the ePortfolio Coordinator.
*Additional training sessions on various topics will be held throughout the
semester in the Education Computer Lab (#112) to accommodate students and faculty. Should a person need technical assistance at any time, he or she is welcome to send a request through the online technical request system.
9. Can I place personal pictures in my ePortfolio?
*Yes, personal images can be inserted as large graphics in your portfolio. Please follow the Inserting Personal Images Into Your Portfolio instructions or seek training for assistance.
10. Can I make other portfolios inside my ePortfolio account besides the one required for my program of study?
*You can make as many different portfolios within your ePortfolio account as you would like. The program portfolio is required for you to finish your
ultimate certification, but other portfolios can be created with original tables of contents. Please follow the instructions included on this website or in print for creating an ePortfolio with an original table of contents.
