Virus Information
updated 1/31/08

There are currently no viruses that pose
an immediate threat to UCO computers that
are protected by campus antivirus software.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is always good practice to delete messages from people you
don't know, and if you get a message with an attachment
from someone you do know, open the attachment only if
you have been expecting it.

There are still emails circulating that ask for your bank account
information.  If you receive one of these that indicates they already
have specific personal information (your name, address,
social security no, etc) please notify the campus police.
Otherwise just delete the message.

Guidelines for Avoiding Virus Infections

To get information about a specific virus:
Click here to go to Symantec's Virus Library, type in the name of the virus,
or subject of suspected email message or attachment.
Click here to go to McAfee's Virus Library, type in the name of the virus.
