Alumni Information

The UCO Instructional Media Education Alumni Association (IMEAA) was formed in 1996 to serve as a network of UCO IME graduates.  Since many library media specialists are the only library professionals in their building (and some in their district!), it is important to maintain contact with others who can share information and ideas.

The Alumni group meets yearly during the Encyclomedia State Conference.   At that time new officers are elected, dues are collected, and a lot of food is consumed!  Plans are underway to come up with ideas for a more active group. 

Alumni Activities

IMEAA awards a cash scholarship each year (that we have money) to a deserving UCO IME (library info) student to assist with the cost of grad school.

Several members of IMEAA serve as "Advisory Council" members to the IME program - advising faculty on suggestions for program and course upgrades and keeping us on our toes as to "the real world."

ANNOUNCEMENT

              ** 2008 ENCYLO-MEDIA LUNCHEON **

This year's IMEAA luncheon was on Thursday, September 18, and we had a great group of almost 50 gather at Spaghetti Warehouse.  If any of you who were unable to attend the luncheon would like to renew your membership in IMEAA, dues are $15, and all money is used for scholarships in the IME masters program.  We look forward to seeing another large group next year.

This year's officers include Donya Charlson, President; Lisa Luse, President-elect; and Marcie Lee, Secretary.   Donya is checking into prices for possible IME Alumni tee-shirts ... another possibility to raise money for scholarships.  We'll send out more info as it is gathered.

Please plan ahead to join us next year!
